Your Excellency,

On the occasion of the 109th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of the Philippines, I wish to express to you my warm congratulations and best wishes.

The China-Philippine relations is now in the period of all-round development. During his visit to the Philippines last January, Premier WEN Jiabao and President Arroyo reached new important consensus on enhancing the strategic cooperation between China and the Philippines, thus making clear the direction for further development of the bilateral relations. China-Philippine cooperation in the fields of economic and trade, agriculture, science, infrastructure and culture have made prominent achievements. We have also witnessed positive progress on the joint development of the South China Sea while we are having good consultations and coordination in international and regional fora.

I would like to work closely with Your Excellency in the effort of implementing the consensus of our leaders, enhancing friendship between our two Peoples and promoting bilateral exchange and cooperation in various fields.
