| Her Excellency Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo Beijing, 10 June, 2007 Your Excellency, On the occasion of the 109th anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of the Philippines, I wish, on behalf of the people of the People's Republic of China and in my own name, to express my warm congratulations to you and through you to the Government and people of the Republic of the Philippines. Under the leadership of Your Excellency, the Philippines has made great achievements in the social and economic development as well as the maintenance of national stability. As a friendly neighboring country, we have every reason to believe that your government and people are sure to make more progress in the process of building a strong and prosperous nation. To develop a long-term, stable and good-neighborly friendship of mutual trust and to further deepen the bilateral strategic cooperation between China and the Philippines is not only in the fundamental interest of our two Peoples but also conducive to regional peace, stability and prosperity. I am ready to work with Your Excellency in the efforts of pushing forward the China-Philippine friendship and cooperation. Wish the Republic of the Philippines prosperity and its people happiness.
