  China International Photographic Art Exhibition held by China Photographers Association is the largest international photographic event with the longest history in China. Since 1981, CPA has already held 11 exhibitions. We totally received around 200,000 works shot by 40,000 photographers from about 100 countries and regions all over the world. China International Photographic Art Exhibition has become one of the largest international photographic events with the most influence in the world.
  China Photographers Association and Lishui People's Municipal Government, Zhejiang Province sincerely invite you - all photographic organizations, professional and amateur photographers from all over the world to submit entries to "2007 China 12th International Photographic Art Exhibition", which will be held in November 2007 in China. It has also got the patronage of FIAP. 

1.  Rules
1) The purpose of the exhibition is to present the achievement on photography in these years around the world, and bring in forth the talents of photographers on photography in different themes, styles and schools, in order to promote the exchange of photographic art among the countries in the world.

2) Prints previously accepted in the international and national exhibitions held by CPA are ineligible.

3) The size of the print: 10 inches (The long side is 25cm). Both color and monochrome prints are accepted. Prints cannot be mounted. If possible, please attach a CD or DVD with submitted images in it in JPEG format with the size of 5MB to 10 MB when you summit the prints.

4) Fill in the entry form. Author's name and address, the title, the category and serial number of the works should be clearly and legibly written in capital letters on the back of each entry, corresponding with the entry form. All the works and entry fee should be sent by mail as Printed matter with the mention: "Photographic works for China 12th International Photographic Art Exhibition only, will be returned to sender ? No Commercial Value".

5) Entry fee: Foreign entrant and entrant from Hong Kong and Macao Special Administrative Regions and Taiwan Province, China: USD 6 or Euros 5 (cash only, no check accepted) or IRC 10 for each print submitted, works will be returned to the sender by sea mail.

6) The organizer reserves the right to use any accepted and awarded works for non-commercial aim of publicity, exhibition etc without payment in any form.

7) All works will be handled with utmost care, but the organizer wont answer for loss and ruin or any unexpected loss of the works in transport.

8) It is understood that the author submitting his/her works to the exhibition accepts the rules mentioned above. The author will be responsible for the portrait right, copyright and fame concerned in his/her works. The organizer will hold no responsibility.

9) All those that violate the rules or without entry fee will neither be judged nor returned. 

2.  Jury
   The judgment of the prints is on the principle of opening, fairness and justice. The jury of the exhibition consists of at least 11 photographic experts among them most come beyond the mainland of China.

3.  Categories and awards
 About 360 works will be accepted. The categories and awards are as follows:

A)  Social life and folk customs

   FIAP Ribbons             14

B)  Natural landscape and environmental ecology

    FIAP Gold Medal         2

   FIAP Silver Medals       4

C)  Portrait, fashion, advertisement, still life and architecture etc.

Other awards: 
1)  Awards for the prints bringing new ideas in artistic expression

One Gold, one Silver and one Bronze Medal will be given to the works in Categories A, B, C respectively. Prints of active exploration and boldly blazing new trials are encouraged.

2)  Awards for the best monochrome works

Select one best monochrome print from Categories A, B, C respectively. The monochrome creation is encouraged in the time of popularization of color photography.

3)  Judge's Special Choice Award

Each judge selects one print that he likes best according to his/her aesthetic conceptions. The prints showing the individuality and diversity are encouraged.

4)  Outstanding Contribution Prizes for the exhibition

Some awarded to the group or person who has made great contribution to the exhibition.   

The photographers who have won the Gold Medal will be invited to the awarding and opening ceremony of the exhibition and pay a visit of photographic creation in China for one week. The organizer will bear the expenses including food, accommodation and transport of the visitors during their stay in China while they themselves will be responsible for their round-trip travel fee from where they live to Beijing.   

Each entrant whose print(s) is/are accepted will receive a relevant medal, a certificate given by CPA and FIAP. All the entrants will receive an attractive catalogue. 

4? Some explanations about the categories
A.  Social life and folk customs:

The works show the real life today such as the social trends, cultural life, scientific achievements, humanities etc.

Works recording cultural heritages, folklore and local conditions of various nations all over the world, such as to show the different faith, folkways, styles of production and life of various nations and traditional arts etc.

B.  Natural landscape and environmental ecology:

Works show the chasing appreciation of the beauty and unique artistic styles of the photographers through various natural landscapes.

With the awareness of the need to protect the environment as the guiding ideology to record and display the ecological changes of resources, the geology and the landforms of the earth as well as the animals and the plants on the earth.

C.  Portrait, fashion, advertisement, still life and architecture etc.:

Works focus the graceful bearings and dispositions of the modern people in all walks of life, models, fashion show etc. Both prints shot in and out of the house are accepted.

 To have products and still utensil be outstanding connotation and visual effect by means of creative thinking, super skills, and digital image modified or composed by computer.
