On May 9th, H.E. Kristie A. Kenney, newly-arrived U.S. Ambassador to the Philippines ,paid a courtesy call on Chinese Amb. Li Jinjun. In a cordial and friendly atmosphere, they exchanged views on China in relations with the Philippines and the U.S.,and U.S.- Philippines relations as well as regional and international issues of common concern.

Amb. Kenney expressed her appreciation for meeting with Amb. Li and wished to keep a close contact with the Chinese Ambassador . Amb. Li congratulated Amb.Kenney on her assumption of office in the Philippines and hoped that both sides could work together and promote respective relationship with the Philippines so as to maintain peace and stability, and promote development in this region.

On March 17th, Ms. Kenny was assigned U.S.  Ambassador to the Philippines. She has worked in embassies of United States in Argentina and Jamaica . And Ms.Kenny served as the U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Ecuador and Executive Secretary of the State Department, In that capacity, she headed a staff for inter-agency policy coordination and crisis management working.
