Amb. Wu 's Farewell Call on Philippine Foreign Secretary Romulo

On September 30, 2005, Chinese ambassador Wu Hongbo paid a farewell call on Hon. Alberto Romulo, Foreign Secretary of the Philippines. They exchanged views on China-Philippines relations and other related issues in a cordial and amicable atmosphere.

Amb. Wu expressed his sincere appreciation of Secretary Romulo's support and contributions in promoting friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries, in particular, the Secretary's recent remarks on Taiwan related issues, which clearly demonstrated the Philippine Government's One China policy.

Secretary Romulo spoke highly of Amb. Wu's successful tour of duty and his contributions to enhancing the amicable ties and fruitful cooperation between the two countries. He said that the Philippine Government would remain firm on its position of One China Policy and continue to promote all-round development in Sino-Philippine relations.

The Foreign Secretary also hosted a luncheon in honor of Amb. Wu.
